The Automation Controls Manager manages and oversees the automation and controls engineering team responsible for support and implementation of manufacturing systems. Defines and implements the strategic vision and roadmap of the automation system landscape, including but not limited to requirements analysis, design, capital costs, implementation, and support of such systems.
Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Manages technical teams and vendors to ensure the optimum execution strategy and customer satisfaction. Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. This role also provides support to manufacturing operations as needed to ensure plant assets are producing quality products at the required rates. This position reports to plant engineering.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience managing entire electrical control systems for industrial manufacturing and automation
1+ years of experience as an automation or controls engineering manager
5+ years of experience programming PLC’s with RSLogix 5/500/5000
5+ years of experience HMI development using Factory Talk View ME, Studio 5000 View Designer, Ignition, or Wonderware
Experience with control panel design
Experience with VFD’s and servos

BS in Electrical Engineering or related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with Tungsten, Tungsten alloys or other refractory materials
Experience installing and maintaining hardware/software that collects specified data and formats into usable information to control the production process.
Experience with project budgets and a strategic plan to support and automation projects
Experience programming PAC’s with C or C++ language
