The CNC Programmer is responsible for setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines. The main tasks include creating and developing CNC programs for 3 to 5-axis machines based on engineering models, drawings, and specs. You must ensure these programs prioritize safety and efficiency, providing comprehensive details about required tools, fixturing, and setup to align with the factory’s capacity profile.
Maintaining precise documentation to support CNC shop operations is also crucial. Additionally, you’ll be the first point of contact for troubleshooting CNC machining problems, conducting equipment and tooling assessments, and collaborating with maintenance personnel when needed to diagnose machine faults and implement solutions, contributing significantly to CNC machining’s overall effectiveness.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer
Experience with 3-5 axis machines
Experience with Siemens NX programming
Experience with G and M code
Experience with FANUC CNC controls
Experience with AutoCAD or CAD/CAM software
Experience with initial troubleshooting for CNC machining problems
Experience with MS Office Suite
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with lean manufacturing principles
Experience with Fixture design and building
Experience with first article inspection
Experience with GD&T
Experience maintaining accurate documentation to support CNC shop operations
Salary Range: $50,000 to $75,000 DOE
Bonus: Annual bonus
