The Controls Engineer is responsible for development of solutions for the the metals manufacturing industry. Responsibilities include testing and startup of technical solutions created by yourself or others, development, implementation, and communicate with management and customers of work status updates.
They will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to use their technical experience and expertise in controls, networking and software development, instrumentation, to deliver high-quality and high-value solutions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
2+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing or automation integration environment
2+ years of experience with PLC programming (AB or Siemens preferred)
2+ years of experience with HMI programming
Experience with specifying and configuring hardware components such as AC/DC drives, instrumentation, switchgear, and control panels
Experience with industrial network protocols (DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
Experience with commissioning automated systems including start up testing
BS in Electrical Engineering or related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with steel or other metal manufacturing
Experience configuring SCADA systems
