The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for the development of project scopes, estimation of equipment, installations, and engineering expenses, as well as the formulation of project schedules for Appropriation Requests to produce building and construction products (gypsum and cement board).
This position involves overseeing the design process and managing the preparation of construction drawing packages for capital projects. Field construction activities will also fall under the purview of the Electrical Project Engineer, alongside project start-ups. In alignment with these responsibilities, collaboration with existing facilities for maintenance, repair, and improvement projects will be essential.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
3+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Engineer for captial equipment in manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience developing project scopes, estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs
Experience designing power and motor circuits
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with AC variable speed drives and motor control centers (MCC)
Experience handling multiple projects
Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and major power components
Ok with 25% travel to support project installations & startup
BS in Electrical Engineering (emphasis on Power Studies preferred)
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience as a Plant or Project Engineer for the gypsum industry
Previous management experience with direct and non-direct reports (5-15)
Experience with utility interface with the customer power systems
Experience with preparation of construction drawings packages for capital projects
Experience with ARC Flash requirements and NFPA-70
Experience with electrical system coordination studies and how to interpret
Experience with PLC Systems and their specifications
Salary Range: $70,000 to $120,000 DOE
