The site Energy Engineer is responsible for monitoring the plant energy usage and recommending, leading and analyzing projects and process changes to meet or exceed the strategic sustainability plan of the plant, while maintaining conformance to Federal and State laws. This includes being actively involved in the Corporate Sustainability Group as well as local and industrial Energy and Sustainability Groups to maintain current and future knowledge of market conditions.  The Energy Engineer will create and maintain yearly energy budget by asset.

They will provide leadership to area SME’s to identify energy and sustainability improvement projects.  Be the point of contact for all energy projects for the site. This includes analysis of savings and potential impacts to the sustainability of all plant assets. Responsible for training and development of operations, maintenance and leadership on plant energy and sustainability directives and guidelines.  Responsible for the development, tracking and communication of plant sustainability KPIs. Recommend technical design or process changes to improve the efficiency and/or performance of all plant assets.  Lead the installation, calibration and maintenance of energy metering devices for the facility.  Be an active participant with the procurement group to identify programs to reduce the cost of the procurement of energy for the site.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
5+ years of experience as an Energy Engineer for manufacturing plant
Experience with ISO50001 standards for energy management
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (any is good)
Experience with project coordination, scheduling, planning and communications
Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word – must be very proficient
Must be ITAR compliant
Comfortable with Union Environment
BS in Engineering OR “if no degree” 10+ years of comparable industrial energy management with proven track record

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification 
Experience with aluminum vertical casting
Experience working with rolled aluminum manufacturing
Experience working in the aerospace or defense industry
PMP and Six Sigma certifications
Experience working with competitors Aleris, Arconic, Special Metals, Novelis, Kaiser, United Aluminum
MS in Electrical Engineering
