The First Article Supervisor will be managing the first article inspection group for their aerospace products that they assemble and modify at this facility. They will be coordinating any testing activities with approved outside vendors, identifying and implementation of Continuous Improvement activities, and develop inspection / testing plans for all New Products.
They will also be preparing First Article Part Packages for Tech Services approval. Providing quality/inspection support for First Article activities, as well as providing quality/inspection support for New Product Development activities.
They do not manufacture at this location and outsource everything and bring in products from their suppliers that go into the quality department. Products could be literally anything on or in a plane, from the nose to the tail of the plane, and from wing to wing, also could be anything exterior or interior. Literally, anything on or in a plane.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience with aerospace manufacturing first article inspection
5+ years of supervisor experience or related
Experience with standard drawing convention and GD&T
Knowledge of aircraft engine components, controls, accessories, or aircraft interiors
Knowledge of aerospace industry design MRO
Knowledge of aerospace materials and coatings
Familiar with various inspection gauging, layout equipment, optical comparator
Knowledge of aerospace specifications, i.e. AMS, AS, NASM, MIL,
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing methods, including; milling, turning, grinding, lapping, stamping, forging, casting, molding, EDM, ECM, welding, brazing, heat treating
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with CMM
