The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for developing, designing, and planning equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize the utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities. They will be ensuring compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines. Additionally, evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control reductions.
Key responsibilities will also include developing metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks. Collaborate with the EH&S team to establish accident prevention measures and plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation.
They manufacture automotive interior components and systems such as instrument panels and consoles, door systems, headliner and overhead systems, and cockpit and console systems.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
3+ years of experience with continuous improvements in automotive manufacturing
Experience developing, designing, and planning equipment and machine layouts
Experience with lean manufacturing techniques
Experience with metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks
BS in Engineering or related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience working with automotive interior systems manufacturing
Experience with injection molding or foaming systems
Six Sigma certifications
