The Manufacturing Engineer is a self-motivated “hands on” engineer with the ability to identify and solve practical manufacturing process problems on the shop floor. Must have strong communication skills and will require you to work closely with the manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to provide technical support & problem solving of assembly & test issues on the manufacturing floor.

The ME should have a desire to “roll up their sleeves” to help the team get the job done. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing & optimizing existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using lean manufacturing methods and assisting in the design of products to develop “Design for Manufacturing” parts and processes.

Required to interpret engineering drawing packages and sales write-ups to assemble and test products in accordance with customer and quality requirements including UL. The products they engineer onsite are also manufactured onsite. Products are custom design and manufacturing of controls and switchgears for many different industries including the Defense industry such as tactical equipment, or mobile power units.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with any type of project management or manufacturing operations
Experience with AutoCAD, Creo, or EPLAN
Desire to work in hands on, shop floor environment
Experience using test or inspection equipment
Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen 
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings

BS in Engineering

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with manufacturing tactical equipment or mobile power units
Experience with design for manufacturability DFM
Experience identifying and implementing improvements to manufacturing and testing processes and equipment
Experience leading process improvement projects
