The NPD Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying and evaluating manufacturing partners for all New Product Development Programs. They will analyze supplier capabilities, capacity, pricing, quality, and delivery speed to determine the best fit for each program. Additionally, they will evaluate price proposals and program profitability to determine if entering into production is viable.
The NPD Sourcing Specialist will project manage the NPD life-cycle from drawing release to First Article delivery, working independently while also collaborating with cross-departmental groups such as Quality and Engineering. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
They do not manufacture at this location and outsource everything and bring in products from their suppliers that go into the quality department. Products could be literally anything on or in a plane, from the nose to the tail of the plane, and from wing to wing, also could be anything exterior or interior. Literally, anything on or in a plane.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience with sourcing for new products materials
Experience in the aerospace industry and understanding of first article delivery
Experience reading Blue Prints and determining manufacturing methods needed to produce the article
Experience researching and negotiating with manufacturing partners or vendors
Experience with MS Office suite
