This production supervisor is responsible for coordinating safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement for their assigned crew. They must be able to effectively manage the union workforce within the boundaries of the collective bargaining agreement The jobholder must have working knowledge of customer requirements covering a large variety of products including Aerospace Plate, Brazing Sheet, and Transportation markets such as dump trucks, rail cars, and tanker trucks.
The supervisor must have conflict resolution skills in order to provide the leadership necessary to identify and resolve problems. They must be willing and able to act independently and lead the effort to determine root cause and implement corrective actions, as required.
This position will follow a modified "Dupont Shift" rotation. Typically it's a 14 day on and 14 day off schedule that rotates hours during the "on" period. This is a union facility and candidates must be comfortable with that environment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
5+ years of experience in HANDS ON production for industrial manufacturing
Experience managing and developing in a team environment
Experience supervising unionized workforce
Experience with conflict resolution to resolve employee problems
Comfortable with Union Environment
Must be ITAR compliant- US or Candidate Citizens only
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience working with rolled aluminum or metals manufacturing
Expertise with combustion systems
Experience with overhead and gantry cranes with AC/DC motors
Experience supervising up to 20 production technicians
Experience working with competitors Aleris, Arconic, Special Metals, Novelis, Kaiser, United Aluminum
BS in Engineering
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 DOE
Bonus: $5K differential bonus, and up to 8% annual bonus
