The Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the business quality management system. This position will ensure that the customer experience and business financial performance are aligned and improved thru the reduction of quality incidents and improvement of quality processes across the business and all functions.
The position will promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization and ensure that quality and business processes are defined, compliant and continuously improved and responsible for the timely containment, investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions for all quality events, and for interface with customers to influence customer satisfaction with the follow up data.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
5+ years of manufacturing experience (automotive works well)
2+ years of experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and process improvement techniques
2+ years of experience PPAP (Corrective Actions), Control Plans and APQP Documents
Experience with managing quality systems
Experience with lean manufacturing or six sigma
Willing to travel 10%
BS in Engineering (or related)
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience with rubber adhesives or construction materials manufacturing
Experience with obtaining and maintaining ISO 9000 or other QMS registration at manufacturing facilities
ASQ certifications (CQE or CQA)
Experience with Minitab
Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000 DOE
