The Senior Development Engineer will conduct research, develop processing techniques, and other technologies with a focus on the development of new products, services and markets. You will also research and propose new production equipment, procedures and methods to automate, improve and/or scale-up existing processes.

They manufacturer highly engineered advanced materials for global customers across a wide range of markets, including consumer electronics, defense and science, industrial and aerospace, automotive electronics, telecommunications infrastructure, appliances, medical and energy. Specifically, they make beryllium products, braze & solder alloys, clad metals, high performance alloys, inorganic chemicals, metal matrix composites, microelectronics packaging materials, precision optics, technical ceramics, and thin film coatings.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
3+ years of experience with development of casting processes for specialty alloys or metals
3+ years of experience with engineering and scale up of material manufacturing processes, analytical techniques, and materials characterization
Experience with vacuum casting of low volume high mix products
Experience scaling and validating new product development/processes
Experience with Stage Gate Process
Experience with project management
Six sigma certification 
Ok with 25% travel
MS in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or other STEM field M.Sc

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with beryllium, high performance alloys, or metal matrix composites
Experience with die casting, investment casting, low pressure casting, centrifugal casting, squeeze die casting or continual casting
Experience identifying and developing novel approaches to optimize metal manufacturing processes
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification 
PhD in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or other STEM field. M.Sc
