The Sr. Staff Avionics Engineer is a technical leader possessing expert understanding of commercial and military avionics systems, with the emphasis being on commercial avionics systems integration and FAA Certification.
Senior, principal and lead electrical engineers are responsible for leading engineering analysis and evaluation efforts of complex avionics/electrical systems, documenting design approaches, establishing design verification & validation, conducting detailed briefings to peers and customers, and developing plans to support fabrication, integration, and airworthiness testing. They primarily take apart helicopters and send them back to the government. They work on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
7+ years of experience with avionics systems integration
7+ years of experience Federal Aviation Certification Processes (FAA Certification)
7+ years of experience with application of 14 CFR parts for 21, 23, 25, 27, and 29 regulations
Experience with engineering certification plans and provide guidance for compliance demonstration
Experience working engineering design change projects (on the engineering side)
Experience as a technical leader
Experience with design verification & validation
Some understanding of EASA processes and CS 25 regulatory requirements
BS in Engineering
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with armaments systems integration and certification
Experience working with a delegated organization (ODA, DAS, DOA)
Understanding of aircraft conformity
