The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing many different motion and fluid control products such as valves and manifolds, as well as ensure the accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation, and bill of materials. They will be responsible for developing project timelines, risk assessment, test methods, and implementation plans for programs under their responsibility.
In addition, the Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will troubleshoot and resolve product integrity issues through designing and implementing verification and validation programs to ensure designs are adequate for the intended purpose with an appropriate sense of urgency. The successful candidate will be expected to interface directly with customers and end-users to understand application needs and design, develop, and implement custom engineered solutions meeting customer product specifications and all industry and regulatory requirements.
The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will also be responsible for coordinating complex design and project activities with other engineers onsite and performing standard design calculations, supporting engineering efforts on critical projects which include idea/concept development, prototype evaluation, concept verification, and production design validation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience with product design for manufacturing
5+ years of experience with SolidWorks
5+ years of experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
Experience with GD&T, technical writing and failure investigation
Experience with root cause analysis and design for manufacturability
Experience with interacting with clients professionally
Experience with MS Office Suite
BS in Engineering (BSME preferred)
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience designing motion and fluid control products such as valves and manifolds
Experience with Inventor
Experience using JDE (ERP system)
