The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading a team of 10 engineers, 3 experienced and 7 very junior for their current and new product development as they manufacture modular shelters and ballistic protection systems for the military and defense industry.
They will be conducting engineering analysis and calculations on various mechanical systems to ensure their functionality and performance. Additionally, as a senior-level engineer, you will fulfill the role of solution owner, taking ownership and responsibility for the successful completion of projects.
The SME will also be involved in the design development of modular shelters and ballistic protection systems, which includes tasks such as component fabrication, hardware selection and integration, and performing engineering calculations. Utilizing SolidWorks, you will develop parts, assemblies, and drawings for components, molds, and equipment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
ITAR FACILITY: ONLY US CITIZENS, PERM RESIDENTS & GREEN CARDS
5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer using Solidworks
Experience managing and developing junior engineers
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Experience with esign for Manufacturing (DFM)
Experience with project management
Knowledgeable in CNC programming and machining
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience working for a defense, military, or composites manufacturer
Experience with modular shelters and ballistic protection systems
Experience with ABAQUS design software
Experience working on research and development projects
MS in Mechanical Engineering
