The Senior Process Development Engineer facilitates R&D and Engineering in the development and refinement of existing processes, operational standards, and new process designs. This position will have a focus on the quality and technical services side of manufacturing.
Utilizing a pilot plant, exiting operations and outside technical developments to strengthen the organization in existing fermented dairy products and potential new product development. This is a food first focus and passion for process and equipment design for production of wholesome high quality food products. They make sour cream and cottage cheese.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
10+ years of experience with process engineering experience in the food industry
Experience leading R&D directed process improvement projects
Experience with new processing designs and systems to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency
Experience testing of new process and equipment design concepts
Working knowledge of fluid dynamics
Experienced with project management
Ok with less than 25% regional domestic travel
BS in Engineering
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with fermented or cultured dairy products food manufacturing
Experience with dairy processing unit operations such as HTST and CIP design
Experience with regulatory requirements such as 3A and or European sanitary EHEDG design requirements
Experience with heat transfer for a variety of unit operations used in food processing such as plate, shell and tube, scraped surface and tube in tube heat exchangers
Working knowledge of industrial control PLC and sensor technologies
