The Sustaining Engineering Supervisor will be managing the Sustaining Engineering Group as well as developing and managing Design Change packages through FAA approval. They will also be developing sustainable product quality and inspection plans and executing on supplier development activities; requiring review of supplier documentation to ensure compliance to drawing and industry specifications.
Furthermore, they will be supporting manufacturing drawings for airworthy flight hardware using Solidworks/AutoCAD, and supporting Quality Assurance department and vendors regarding drawing interpretation, manufacturing methods, inspection methods.
They do not manufacture at this location and outsource everything and bring in products from their suppliers that go into the quality department. Products could be literally anything on or in a plane, from the nose to the tail of the plane, and from wing to wing, also could be anything exterior or interior. Literally, anything on or in a plane.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
5+ years of experience with mechanical design using Solidworks
5+ years of experience as a supervisor or related
Experience with standard drawing convention and GD&T
Experience developing and managing design changes
Experience with FAA approval regulations
Experience with sustainable product quality and inspection plans
BS in Engineering

Experience with mechanical design in the aerospace industry
Knowledge of aircraft engine components, controls, accessories, or aircraft interiors
Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, modal analysis of mechanical components
