The Systems Design Engineer will be responsibile for designing and developing cutting-edge systems that align with project requirements and performance objectives for their missile systems, aerostructures, electronics, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that they manufacture.
They will be planning and executing comprehensive testing and validation procedures for all product systems. Collaboration is a key as they will work closely with a multidisciplinary teams, will be responsible for implementing and upholding safety and reliability standards and procedures throughout the entire system lifecycle. This will include conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to ensure system integrity and security.
They will be creating and maintaining technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and comprehensive reports. Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to system design and function, employ root cause analysis techniques and implement corrective actions as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
ITAR COMPLIANT: US Citizen or Green Card holders only
5+ years of experience as a Systems Design Engineer for regulated manufacturing
Experience in the defense industry, DoD or related
Experience with design software and simulation tools for systems design
Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, LabVIEW or CATIA
Experience using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Knowledge of defense industry regulations and standards
BS in Aerospace, Aeronautics Engineering or related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with defense programs such as missile systems and loitering munitions
Experience with EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) systems
Experience with system components, propulsion, guidance, imaging, energetics
Experience with simulation software ANSYS, COMSOL, or Abaqus
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Software
Experience with Mathematical Computational Software MATLAB or Mathematica
Experience with engineering leadership roles
Six Sigma certification
Active Security Clearance or Inactive Security Clearance (can be reinstated)
MS in Aerospace, Aeronautics Engineering or related
Salary Range: $120,000 to $180,000 DOE
Bonus: Annual bonus negotiated at offer stage
