The Electrical Engineer will be designing, programming and troubleshooting, electrical components for custom automation equipment in a plant which manufactures belts for multiple industries. This position will also be responsible for helping teach and train UAW electricians in the plant with troubleshooting PLC's and motor controls.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
5+ years of hands on experience as and Electrical Engineer (or related) in a manufacturing environment
5+ years of experience with programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley, Omron, or Mitsubishi PLC's
5+ years of experience with installing and troubleshooting motor controls & AC/DC drives
Experience with HMI programming and troubleshooting
Experience reading and designing electrical schematics in AutoCAD
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience with NEC and NFPA standards
AS or trade school equivalent (electrical, industrial, etc.) 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience with retrofitting old equipment with new electrical components
Experience with relay logic
Any experience with speaking or reading Japanese

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for updating and modernizing legacy converting machinery (winders, bag machines, bag separators) for the flexible film industry. This person will have a strong hands-on mentality and the ability to work independently while wearing multiple hats in a small business environment.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer (or similar) in a manufacturing and/or OEM environment
• 5+ years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs.  
• 2+ years of experience with RSLogix / Studio 5000
• 2+ years of experience with ladder logic and/or structured text
• 2+ years of experience with servos and motion controllers
• 2+ years of experience designing control panels
• Ability to operate interfaces, design controls, write technical control write-ups for automation projects, and train customers
• Hands on mentality and willing to wear multiple hats
• Strong communications skills (Client facing position)
• Proven ability to take conceptual designs and independantly identify required components, assemble them, and integrate complete systems that deliver the intended operational outcome. 

Desired Experience

• Experience updating and modernizing legacy systems
• Experience with Bosch Rexroth, ABB, Siemens, or EXOR family of PLCs
• BS in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
• Experience in Blown Film, Web Handling, Converting, Packaging, or Printing Industries
• Experience with vision and safety systems
• Experience with industrial network protocols (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNET, ControlNET)
• Project Management experience
