The Protection & Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing substation relaying and metering diagrams, as well as DC and AC schematic diagrams. They will prepare specifications and Bills of Material for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/ Communication Panels, and develop schematic diagrams for SCADA and communication interfaces, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
Additionally, develop protection and control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules, ensuring all engineering deliverables meet the schedule and scope requirements of the contract. As the customer’s point of contact, they will manage all technical topics, including technical construction and procurement topics, and communicate with the project manager any risks in the engineering design project.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience with Protections & Controls for Energy Industry
Experience with developing substation relaying and metering diagrams
Experience preparing specifications and BOM's for Protection, Control, Metering, RTU, and Communication Panels
Experience developing schematic diagrams for SCADA and communication interfaces, including RTU's, HMI's, and IED's
Experience developing protection and control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
Experience with project management
Experience with electrical CAD
P.E. License for Sr. role only
BS in Electrical Engineering
