The Maintenance Supervisor in the PLATE department is responsible for coordinating safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement for their assigned crew on all the manufacturing equipment that makes aluminum rolled products. The jobholder must be able to effectively manage the union workforce within the boundaries of the collective bargaining agreement. This position could potentionally be supervising up to 20 maintenance technicians.
The supervisor must have conflict resolution skills in order to provide the leadership necessary to identify and resolve problems. They must be willing and able to act independently and lead the effort to determine root cause and implement corrective actions, as required.
This position will follow a modified “Dupont Shit” rotation. Typically it's a 14 day on and 14 day off schedule that rotates hours during the “on” period.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Must be ITAR compliant
5+ years of experience in HANDS ON maintenance for industrial manufacturing
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, instrumentation controls, drives, 13.8KV/480 KV power systems
Experience in troubleshooting electrical or mechanical equipment
Experience supervising maintenance technicians
Experience supervising unionized workforce
Experience with conflict resolution to resolve employee problems
Comfortable with Union Environment
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience working with rolled aluminum or metals manufacturing
Expertise with combustion systems
Experience with overhead and gantry cranes with AC/DC motors
Experience supervising up to 20 maintenance technicians
Experience working with competitors Aleris, Arconic, Special Metals, Novelis, Kaiser, United Aluminum
