This position will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and testing mechanical components for state-of-the-art medical devices in an environment where safety, efficacy, and innovation are compulsory. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience developing electro-mechanical devices, and a passion for being part of a team developing medical technologies that improve people’s lives.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing complex electro-mechanical products for manufacturing
- 8+ years of experience designing products with plastic and sheetmetal
- 8+ years of experience using Solidworks
- 8+ years of generating mechanical architecture and componentry concepts for complex mechanical systems
- 8+ years of experience using GD&T
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
Desired Experience
- MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Medical Device design experience
- SolidWorks PDM experience
- Design for manufacturing experience
- Experience with mechanical hazard analysis, product, and hardware FMEA processes
- Experience with 3D printing and / or model making for usability testing
- Experience with FEA and/or FEM
- Experience with CFD for simple fluidic systems
- Experience with heat transfer and fluid flow analysis
- Experience working in a safety-related quality process
- Experience with selecting appropriate sterilization processes and analyze material effects
- Experience with biocompatibility analyses and design for compliance with ISO 10993-1
