The Controls Engineer will be programming and troubleshooting PLCs and CNC machines for aluminum die cast components machine shop.This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems and control strategies for manufacturing equipment, including Fanuc robotic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and safety devices. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in control systems, industrial networking, and troubleshooting.
MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years of experience as a Controls or Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing enviroment
- 2+ years experience with Fanuc robotics including programming, troubleshooting, and integration (Must be recent)
- 2+ years experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Familiarity with industrial Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and safety networks
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for control panel design
- Experience with VFDs, servos, sensors, safety relays, and industrial control devices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
NICE TO HAVES:
- BS in Engineering
- Experience with other robotic platforms (e.g., ABB, KUKA)
- Knowledge of Ignition, Wonderware, or other SCADA platforms
- Familiarity with vision systems, barcode scanners, or machine learning tools
- Project management or leadership experience in automation projects
