The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will manage manufacturing improvement projects and supports the maintenance department in troubleshooting building and equipment repairs; conducts testing of new equipment, as well as making modifications to existing processes and equipment. This role works in conjunction with operations management in making modifications to processes and equipment work instructions in a chemical manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
7+ years of experience as a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering role in a process manufacturing environment
5+ years of experience with batch/process equipment flow design (new & upgrades)
5+ years of experience with equipment specification
5+ years of experience with commissioning and troubleshooting equipment
5+ years of experience with testing and developing new equipment
Experience supporting the maintenance team as Subject-Matter expert for mechanical manufacturing equipment
Comfortable leading engineering projects
Experience with 2D CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
Travel up to 25%
BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience in a chemical, food/bev, or Ink manufacturing environment
Basic electrical skills including troubleshooting electrical systems and PLC's
Experience with leading improvement projects including budgeting and ROI calculations
Experience with 3D CAD design
Project management experience
Six Sigma Certification
