The Sr. Project Engineer will be preparing design substantiation packages for FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval applications in accordance with Standard Procedure SP004. They will be developing part and tool drawings for airworthy flight hardware using CAD software in accordance with SP004, also assisting in the development of manufacturing processes for airworthy flight hardware.
Disposition of non-conforming materials in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS), including analyzing the non-conformance for fit, function, safety, and reliability, and communicating with quality, suppliers, and the FAA liaison. Preparing Design Changes in accordance with Standard Procedure SP 003 for part drawing, tool drawings and specifications.
They do not manufacture at this location and outsource everything and bring in products from their suppliers that go into the quality department. Products could be literally anything on or in a plane, from the nose to the tail of the plane, and from wing to wing, also could be anything exterior or interior. Literally, anything on or in a plane.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
5+ years of experience with mechanical design for manufacturing
Experience in the aerospace industry
Experience with Solidworks
Experience with standard drawing convention and GD&T
Experience with technical writing for design disclosure
Familiarity with aircraft engine components, controls & accessories, or aircraft interiors
BS in Engineering
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Experience with basic structural, thermal, and modal analysis of mechanical components, Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
