The Controls Engineer designs and develops all aspects of electrical control systems for automated industrial machinery in the automotive and medical devices industries for companies like ITW, Medtronics, and GE. They will be responsbile for PLC programming, working with Automation Direct, Rockwell Products, integration of HMI, servo and robotic motion, and vision systems via industrial networks.
They will specify electrical components, design and document machine electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical. May be responsible for the installation in-house and field technical support of PLC based control systems.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
3+ years experience designing control systems for automated industrial machinery
3+ years experience programming Allen Bradley PLC’s using RSLogix 5000 and CompactLogix
3+ years RECENT experience programming AB PLCs from scratch using ladder logic
Experience programming HMI's (Rockwell is preferred)
Experience with servo and robotic motion, and vision systems
Experience designing electrical panels using AutoCAD Electrical
Experience with installation, commissioning and debugging
OK with 10% travel domestic and international
BS in Engineering (Electrical Preferred)
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience with SCADA systems
Robotic programming (Epson or Fanuc is ideal)
Experience with ITW, Medtronics, GE, or automotive or medical devices industry
